At Frenzr, one of the questions we get the most is "How to get the most interesting, follow-worthy Instagram content?".
Much of keeping a successful Instagram page has to do with the consistent posting of good content. Scheduling your posts is the number one way to make sure that you're posts are intriguing, engaging and continuous for your followers. Scrambling for social media content is more common than you think. While most people think it's easy to come up with one post a day, it's NOT.
If you're using your social media as a business tool for a company or to market yourself in your field, then creating the perfect posts on the daily can become an exhausting feat.
The photos need to be clean, clear, aesthetically pleasing and contain different subjects so your content doesn't repeat itself. It is HARD to come up with that much content. Sometimes your day just isn't all that interesting! We've put together a simplified weekly schedule so you will never run out of content again. It's broad enough that it allows you to tailor it to your niche but specific enough that it should stimulate ideas for your day to day content creation.
Start the week off with a business tip in your given field. People love starting Monday on an efficient note. How do you stay on top of everything; whether it be work, school, blogging or anything that relates to what YOU do on a day to day basis. This allows your followers to get to know you and your given field. When you expose yourself in this way, it also gives you the opportunity to connect with like-minded people. These type of posts allow you to brand yourself within your given field. If done properly, it could give you that extra edge in your community because not only are you knowledgeable in said subject, but you're also approachable and open to sharing your expertise with your followers.
A photo of yourself! Preferably not a selfie. Why do we say that? Well, there is nothing wrong with selfies, but if you're going for a professional vibe (and by professional we mean someone who is taking their Insta feed in a more serious manner), then having someone take a photo of you gives you more credibility and shows you put the effort and time in to create good content. Once in awhile a selfie is totally fine, but for the most part, we want to stay away from 'selfie like' photos. Caption wise; what interesting fact would you like to say about yourself this week? Did you start a new hobby, did you plan an impromptu trip down south? We want to know! This allows you to talk about things not related to work or business. You can open up about yourself and take a more personal stance or you can talk about something fun (or not fun) that has happened to you recently.
A little mid-week inspiration to help your followers get to the weekend. This can be a quote, a photo of somewhere warm, anything! Just something that if YOU were reading it on your news feed, it would make you stop, smile and get inspired. This type of post requires a very small amount of Pinterest research, but it also gives you a break from creating content for a day. Just make sure, when you are looking for something to post, that it follows your overall color scheme and theme to your Instagram.
Share a goal that you accomplished this week that you set for yourself in the past. Did you perfect some latte art? Show it! Did you finally buy that car you've been saving for since college? Share it! How's that cactus doing you bought 2 months ago and posted about? Stories like these inspire followers to make their own goals and reach them. These posts are heartwarming and show a more personal side to your feed. When you share personal stories like these, or ones you are proud of, it allows your followers to feel like a friend that is being confided in.
Another photo of yourself! We want to make sure that your current followers know who you are, and your potential followers can find you and know your face. This post does not have to be as personal as the first. It could be an #ootd, so you can show your followers what you wear to work. It doesn't even have to be a photo of your face, it could be your shoes and your work briefcase for instance, or from the nose down your favorite top! This lets people see your personal style. Perhaps they look up to you or want to know your day to day routines/style.
The weekend is finally here! How do you spend your Saturdays? Catching up on work, relaxing with your other half? Your followers want to know! This is a chance for you to do a very fun bright post! Maybe you're walking around the city and you find a bright painted backdrop? Take a photo! The main rule to a Saturday post is to make it fun! Even if you plan on spending the day inside watching movies, this is always a chance to take a great flatlay photo of the day's cinematic selections!
Brunch shot. Sundays are always for brunch/coffee/food/desserts! Where did you go and what did you eat? Don't forget to tag your location because your followers may want to try the restaurant out! There is something very aesthetically pleasing about a great photo of breakfast. Perhaps it reminds people that while Sunday is only one day of the week, it's the day to be lazy, relax, and eat. Also, it's usually the only day of the week people take the time to have a REAL breakfast, so it really is a sacred Sunday ritual that is 100% #Instaworthy of a post.
Well, there you have it! Your short, simplified 7-day calendar that will help you keep your Instagram posts on point! Don't be afraid to make it your own, there are endless formulas to a follow-worthy Instagram account! Till next time!
